INTERNATIONAL İSTANBUL RALLY 2008 – SPECTATORS AREAS

ARKAS OTOMOTİV DENİZLİ POND: It is the only spectators area of the rally. DENİZ VE DENİZLİ special stages will be the area to see the start three times on Saturday, April the 5th then on Sunday April the 6th under the name of DENİZ - B special Stage will be the area to watch finish twice.
Suitable locations to settle and parking spaces along with various viewing areas will be avaliable within the 1 km distance to the pond. To go to the this spectators area, you can exist either from the TEM highway, Şekerpınarı or Kurtköy then on the Old İstanbul-İzmit road following the Balçık, Mollfenari signs by the Denizli exist towards the İzmit bound about 500 meters then on the left side you can find the descenting road to the pond. The first rally car will pass by this area on Saturday at 09.18am, the second one will be at 12.22 and the third will be passing at 16.01. Each passing of the convoy will approximately take 1,5 hours. The most important characteristics of the Arkas Otomotiv Denizli Pond spectators area is that entering and exiting this area has no interference with the rally course.
On Sunday, the time of the first rally car will pass at 10.56, the second one at 14.02.

HOW TO REACH THE SPECIAL STAGES
 
BALLICA A ve B special stages will be run and consist of using the same road on Saturday from Darlık to Kurtdoğmuş bound and Sunday from Kurtdoğmuş to Darlık bound.
To reach the Kurtdoğmuş, take the Kurtköy exist from the TEM highway and follow the Kurtdoğmuş signs towards to İstanbul Park direction.
Besides using the start and finish bounds, you can also reach this destination by the Ballıca, Göçbeyli and Bıçkıdere villages. You can reach to Ballıca village taking the TEM highway and following the İstanbul Park signs thereafter Ballıca signs.
To arrive the mid-point of the Stage, go Through the Göçbeyli village using the asphalt road towards to the pipe line.
The other option is Bıçkıdere. To use this direction take the İstanbul – Şile road and follow the Bıçkere signs. Then follow the İstanbul Park signs to reach the other mid – point of the stage.
On Saturday, the first car of the BALLICA – A special Stage will pass at 10.19 and the second time will be at 17.17.
On Sunday, the first racing car of the BALLICA – B special Stage will pass at 09.53 and the second time will be at 12.59.

DARLIK A ve B special stages: You can reach by going through the İstanbul – Şile road and taking the Kömürlük Junction after the Oruçoğlu Village and before the Ulupelit Village then taking the Yeni Darlık direction at the Yeni Darlık Cemetery Intersection and making a left and following the gravel road about 1,5 kms. On Saturday, April the 5th the DARLIK A special Stage will be run twice and limited parking will be avaliable. Because this area will be use an evacutaion road as well, parking of this area will be only allowed to use one lane form on the side of the road. Start of the first Darlık A special Stage will start at 09.51 and the second one will be at 12.55. The other way of arriving option to reach this area is, from İstanbul Park and going through the Göçbeyli, Ovacık and Mudarlı villages.
The mid- point of the Stage, Yenidere A: Location of this area is situated at the exist of Teke village and by taking a right at the Yenidere Intersection. The mid – point of the Darlık is also called the Ambulans point. This is the fastest area of this stage. The first start of the DARLIK A special Stage will be run on Saturday, April the 5th at 9.51 and the second one at 12.55. Parking is avaliable.
Yenidere B: This special stage will be run on the opposite side of the Darlık A’s first start at 10.21 and the second one will be at 13.27. The area of İski pipe line towards to the Darlık direction offers great viewing point.
Panaroma: On Saturday, April the 5th the distance of 4 kms on the outgoing bound of the Darlık A special stage is an excellent area for the TV crews. Entering this area by a vehicle before the stage’s closure is forbidden. Parking can be done in multiple areas. On Sunday, April the 6th, the Darlık B special stage will be run twice on the opposite side. The finish will take place 2 kms before the Darlık cemetery and for those who are late to arrive this point with their vehicles, will be asked to walk the distance of 2 kms to reach the Panaroma viewing area.

Üvezli: 2 kms of the special stage of Ulupelit intersects with the asphalt road between the Üvezli – Kömürlük. This area is recommended for its easy entrances and exists. The first passing will take place on Saturday, April the 5th at 13.38 and the second one will be at 16.54. The transportation can be made by using the İstanbul Şile road and going towards to Kervansaray region and taking the exist at the Üvezli.

Ovacık Reception Tower: On Saturday, April the 5th the Deniz special stage will be run once and the finish will be at the Ovacık – Mudarlı area where the Reception Tower is across from the water filling facility. The start time of the Deniz special stage is at 9.18. On Sunday, April the 6th the same location will be used as the Deniz B stage. The first rally car’s passing will be at 10.56 and the second passing will be 14.02. The transportation can be made by using the TEM highway and existing the Kurtköy exist. Then following the İstanbul Park signs then going towards to the Göçbeyli, Ovacık bound. After going by the Ovacık Village about 3 kms down on the right hand side, you will see the Reception Tower.
